We represent you.
Estate Liquidation Services of Pittsburgh prides itself on its highest ethical practices. Hiring a liquidator is much like retaining an attorney -a liquidator makes decisions on their clients' behalf - therefore, it is important to make sure that your liquidator represents you and you alone.
One sale at a time.
As per local tradition, estate sales are generally prepared during the weekdays and conducted on weekends. If a liquidator is conducting more than one sale during a given weekend, how can the client be sure that their job is being handled by the "A" squad? Estate Liquidation Services serves only one client at a time, ensuring our clients that our undivided attention and the total of our resources are dedicated to their case.
No conflicts of interests.
Many liquidators will conduct other related businesses such as resale or thrift shops, flea markets, internet sales, and the like. Therefore, this liquidator will have to choose whose interests will be served when they price their clients' items and then elect to buy these items to add to the inventory of their other business interests. Estate Liquidation Services, nor its employees, conduct any business other than the service of our clients in liquidating an estate.
Fair and honest procedures.
Like any professional contractor, a professional liquidator will always have a contract that itemizes the details of the project. This document will be signed by both the liquidator and the client. A "disposition of items remaining post-sale" clause will likely be included. In some cases, some liquidators will word this clause to specify that the remaining unsold items become the property of the liquidation company. What if a liquidator prices some items unreasonably high? Although these items may have a strong potential to be sold at a fair price, they instead becomes the property of the liquidator. Estate Liquidation Services does not include such a clause in our contract. Rather, options for the disposition of these items will be given the client. These options include the client keeping the items if they wish or allowing ELS to employ other avenues to liquidate. We will dispose of the items with little or no value using the municipal trash pick up and/or will employ a named independent contractor to clean out the property.
